Your post here mentions several political leaders, of which some (maybe all) have made horrible blunders, and others in waiting may follow this pattern.

So why are most political leaders so hopeless. Why do they blunder and stumble.

Hi Rich,
Thanks for visiting.
I’ve been writing about this issue for some time here in Australia. I would like to see the issue of freedom and responsibility being seriously discussed in schools. A huge problem is that our politicians and media are so influential but they set such an awful example on this issue.
I sure do applaud your choice of reading; I avidly read all three as well. I’ve been a New Yorker reader for longer than I’m happy to admit, it kinda gives my age away.

I like what you write here, in the above piece: “And it begins with people just like you; people who demand all the freedom but refuse to accept that responsibility is firmly glued to it.”

What I like:
That you have a grasp on what should be the obvious. The absolute necessity of responsibility that comes with ALL rights and freedoms. (Freedom of Speech, and quite applicable to ongoing USA battle about Right to Bear Arms issues. Everyone wants guns, few want to accept full responsibility.)
I appreciate:
That you understand, and try to perpetuate this realization, that Rights without Responsibility = Chaos, Division, and ultimately, loss of freedoms. Loss of freedoms = bondage.
